Hong Kong – DisneyLand, Day Two

On our second day, we started our day the same as yesterday’s, by eating breakfast at the Character Buffet at the Disneyland Hotel. Every time we go to Disney, we make sure we eat at least one time at a character meal. We love the food and the photo opts are fun. I took my camera this day to get some photos inside the Small World to show you how neat it was and by fluke we got a whopper of a deal! We knew Disney was building a new area called Toyland, themed after Toy Story and we were going to miss the open date by seven days. Darn it! Well, when we first got to the park I did what I was told to do when you first arrive at the park–go to the movie theater on the right, just past the train station. As we got close, two Disney workers approached and offered us tickets to try out the Toyland from 2pm to 4pm. Yes! We were all over it! How exciting!

What fun the Toy Store Land was to boot! With little people there, we could get off the ride, immediately return and ride again. Very fun! The only downfall was the sky had opened up about 30 minutes before and everything was soaked. The rain was refreshing with it being in the 80s but wet pants are never a good thing. It was another great day and we still did not get the chance to see all of the park before we had to leave to return to our home in Suzhou…

Hong Kong – DisneyLand, Day One

Today was our first day at Disneyland. We started the day by eating at the Character Breakfast and spent the rest of the time at Disney. The park is smaller than California and we still did not get through all of it in two days. I used Briana’s Samsung Point-n-Shoot for the photos, so the quality is lacking. But they are fun all the same.

Hong Kong – Stanley

Stanley is a town and tourist attraction in Hong Kong. It is located on the southeast part of the Hong Kong Island. The ever popular Stanley Market, Murrary House, Guan Yin Temple and a walk in the tropical forested area were what we desired to visit on this day. Mike made sure our drive to Stanley was memorable by having us take a double-decker bus on a super skinny road way with the ocean on the immediate right and mountainsides on the left. We were amazed by how well the driver drove; missing rocks, trees, hillsides and guard rails by a few inches. It was a hair raising ride. Mike loved the waterfront with its shops and restaurants. It had a feel to it he liked. I loved the walk along the trail to the Guan Yin temple being among the tropical flora and the sights you can see from above. I have never been in a tropical area before and I feel in love with it.
